Adding new fields to an existing form during import
Sometimes your CSV has a column with no matching field on the form: a new piece of data you started collecting, or a column the form never had. GravityImport lets you create the missing field during the import, without leaving the wizard or opening the form editor.
1. Find the unmatched column on the Map Fields stage #
Upload your CSV and choose the existing form. On the Map Fields stage, columns without a matching field show Select Form Field in their dropdown.
2. Choose Add Form Field from the column’s dropdown #
Open the column’s dropdown and choose Add Form Field, the last option in the list. A dialog opens with the Field Label pre-filled from the column name and a Field Type dropdown, set to Single Line Text by default. Pick the type that suits the data, then click Add Form Field.
3. The field is created and the column is mapped #
The new field is added to the form right away, and the column’s dropdown now points at it. Repeat for any other unmatched columns, then continue with the import as usual.
Note: the field is added to the form as soon as you click Add Form Field, even if you don’t finish the import. If you change your mind, remove the field in the Gravity Forms form editor.
