How Slight Revision powers advanced WordPress projects with GravityKit

Eric Nutter, founder of web agency Slight Revision, specializes in building custom WordPress solutions for clients across a wide range of industries. From AI-powered content generation platforms to custom CRM systems, he uses Gravity Forms and GravityKit to deliver solutions quickly and effectively—turning complex requirements into maintainable, scalable applications without reinventing the wheel.

Meet Eric Nutter

Eric Nutter is the founder of Slight Revision, a full-service web agency specializing in custom WordPress solutions. He has been building and running Slight Revision for over 14 years, after previously serving as a bank’s marketing director while developing websites on the side.

About three years ago, Eric transitioned to web development full time as the agency reached a sustainable scale. Today, Slight Revision supports roughly 300 customers and partners with a wide range of agencies to deliver design, development, and hosting services—focused on building flexible, high-quality solutions for diverse client needs.

Discovering GravityKit

Eric’s introduction to GravityKit began with a real-world problem. His wife, a secretary at a local high school, needed a better way to track when students entered and exited the building. The existing system wasn’t working well, so Eric built a custom solution using WordPress and Gravity Forms. When it came time to display and manage the data, he discovered GravityKit.

From there, client demand expanded. Customers began approaching Slight Revision with requests for more complex systems, including CRMs and custom content management platforms. Eric found that GravityKit could be adapted to meet a wide range of use cases, making it a foundational tool across many of his projects.

GravityKit is absolutely an essential plugin for our business. It gives us the ability to quickly and easily deliver effective and efficient web tools to our clients to meet their unique needs.

Building with GravityKit

Eric used Gravity Forms and GravityKit to build an AI-powered content generation platform. The aim of the platform is to help small businesses improve their marketing using generative AI

Upon signing up for an account, users have access to a dashboard where they can use AI to generate marketing copy and materials.

The platform makes use of the Gravity Forms OpenAI plugin provided by Gravity Wiz to send prompts to ChatGPT and record responses. GravityView powers the “Library” section where all of the generated content (e.g., sales pitches, emails, blog posts, etc) is stored. This makes it easy to access and reuse for marketing puroposes.

Eric and his team also built a custom CRM (customer relationship management) system for a property management company. The system enables the company to track leads that they receive through their website, assign leads to different team members, update the status of a lead, and record all communications, such as calls and emails.

Leads are collected through a Gravity Form on the front end. Team members can then manage leads via a private dashboard. Here they can see active leads, add new contacts, and update lead information. All of this is powered by GravityView!

The impact

GravityKit has become an essential part of Slight Revision’s workflow. It enables Eric and his team to quickly deliver effective, efficient web tools tailored to each client’s unique needs, all without adding unnecessary complexity to the build process.

Looking ahead, Eric expects GravityKit to remain a core tool for future work. New use cases continue to emerge, including a custom CRM system currently in development for a maintenance company.

GravityKit is easy to use right out of the box; the documentation is thorough, and the support team is excellent!

Takeaways

GravityKit plays a central role in how Eric and his team at Slight Revision approach custom WordPress development. By combining speed, flexibility, and ease of use, it allows them to turn complex client requirements into reliable, scalable solutions.
