Case study
How Mediebruket enhanced application management for their clients using GravityKit
In this case study, we speak with Bernt Jacobsen Standal, Senior Web Developer at Mediebruket, a Norwegian web agency focused on custom WordPress development. Since 2015, Mediebruket has used GravityKit to build flexible application management systems for financial institutions and nonprofits. By combining Gravity Forms and GravityKit, Mediebruket replaced a rigid, one-size-fits-all solution with a customizable platform that adapts to each client’s needs.
Meet Bernt Jacobsen Standal
Bernt is a senior web developer at Mediebruket, a Norwegian web agency specializing in web hosting and custom WordPress development.
Mediebruket specializes in building application management systems for financial institutions and nonprofits. These systems are vital for community banks and other organizations and foundations that distribute money, enabling them to process and manage various applications effectively.

Discovering GravityKit
Mediebruket purchased its first GravityKit license in 2015, and Bernt has been involved in GravityKit-powered projects since joining the company in 2018. Before moving to WordPress, the team relied on a custom application processing system built with Ruby on Rails. Today, using Gravity Forms and GravityKit makes it significantly faster and easier to configure application systems that can be tailored to the unique needs of each client.
During the six years I’ve been using GravityKit, I’ve seen it gain many more features that we are using.
Building with GravityKit
Here’s an example of one of the application systems built by Bernt’s team. Users submit their funding applications via a Gravity Form. These applications are then displayed on a private dashboard page using GravityView for staff to review.

All application details are visible from the Single Entry screen, where certain fields are editable, enabling staff to update an application’s status.

Bernt’s team also supplies a “lite” version of the system, which they maintain as a GravityMigrate export file, allowing them to install it on a new site in a matter of seconds!
According to Bernt, this makes it really easy to spin up new application management systems for clients. They simply upload the export file using GravityMigrate and they have all the forms and Views that are required!
One of Mediebruket’s clients has used their system successfully to process over 10,000 applications and provide over kr850m ($75m USD) in funding!

The impact
GravityKit has significantly simplified how Mediebruket builds and manages application systems. What once required custom development can now be configured quickly using Gravity Forms and GravityKit, making it possible to deliver polished, front-end application workflows without heavy engineering effort.
Over the years, GravityKit has continued to evolve alongside Mediebruket’s needs, adding new features and capabilities that are actively used across client projects. The platform’s flexibility allows the team to adapt systems as requirements change, while ongoing development ensures it remains future-ready.
Today, GravityKit plays a central role across more than 20 client sites with over 25,000 registered users, making it a core component of Mediebruket’s application processing infrastructure. Combined with responsive support and a steady stream of product improvements, GravityKit has become a tool Mediebruket confidently recommends for building scalable, data-driven WordPress solutions.
Not only does GravityKit have excellent support with fast response times, they continually add a lot of new features to their products.
Takeaways
Bernt Jacobsen Standal and his team at Mediebruket successfully transformed their approach to application management by leveraging the power of GravityKit.
This shift has allowed them to create a flexible, efficient, and scalable application system that serves over 20 clients with more than 25,000 registered users! GravityKit’s ease of use and robust set of features has significantly enhanced their workflow and productivity.
GravityKit has become the cornerstone of many agencies’ toolkits, enabling them to meet the diverse needs of their clients with confidence and precision. If you’re interested in learning more, check out what we have to offer!
