How the Global Campaign for Peace Education powers its digital infrastructure using GravityKit
For nearly a decade, Dr. Tony Jenkins has used GravityKit to power the digital infrastructure behind two global peace education initiatives. GravityKit serves as the backbone for key GCPE projects, including global mapping initiatives, advocacy campaigns, event management, and coalition databases. Together, these systems support worldwide collaboration and have helped GCPE grow to more than 380 member organizations across every region of the globe.
Meet Dr. Tony Jenkins
Tony Jenkins is an Assistant Professor of Justice and Peace Studies at Georgetown University with 20+ years of experience in peacebuilding and international education. He leads the International Institute on Peace Education (IIPE) as Managing Director and coordinates the Global Campaign for Peace Education (GCPE).
The Global Campaign for Peace Education (GCPE) is a worldwide movement uniting peace educators, NGOs, universities, schools, and government entities with a shared mission—to promote cultures of peace through peace education.

Discovering GravityKit
To help drive its initiatives forward, the GCPE leverages GravityKit as the backbone for several key projects. These include the Mapping Peace Education research initiative and the Humans of Peace Education advocacy campaign. In addition, GravityKit powers the GCPE’s events calendar and databases of coalition partners and supporters, ensuring seamless organization and engagement on a global scale.
Running a non-profit in the 21st century requires creativity and resourcefulness. GravityKit allows us to be proficient, accomplishing more with less.
Building with GravityKit
GCPE and IIPE use GravityKit as the foundation for a wide range of interconnected digital projects. From global research initiatives and advocacy campaigns to event calendars, application workflows, and partner databases, GravityKit enables the teams to collect, manage, and present complex data in accessible, interactive formats. By centralizing these systems on WordPress, they’ve created a flexible infrastructure that supports collaboration and engagement at a global scale.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! The GCPE even leverages GravityKit for conducting polls and maintaining accessible databases of members and coalition partners.

The impact
With GravityKit powering their digital infrastructure, GCPE and IIPE have been able to extend their reach, strengthen global collaboration, and operate more efficiently as nonprofit organizations.
The platform supports initiatives that connect educators and institutions worldwide and has helped GCPE grow to more than 380 coalition members across every world region—demonstrating how the right tools can amplify impact while keeping resources focused on mission-driven work.
In recognition of its accomplishments, the Global Campaign was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. These sister initiatives work together to conduct research, facilitate exchanges, and provide training and advocacy for the advancement of peace education as a vital tool for peacebuilding, violence reduction, and conflict management.
