For nearly a decade, Tony Jenkins has relied on GravityKit to support the operations and outreach of two leading international peace education initiatives: the Global Campaign for Peace Education (GCPE) and the International Institute on Peace Education (IIPE).

The Global Campaign for Peace Education (GCPE) is a worldwide movement uniting peace educators, NGOs, universities, schools, and government entities with a shared mission—to promote cultures of peace through peace education.

Members actively contribute within their own communities and capacities, all working toward the campaign’s overarching goals. While grounded in local efforts, GCPE also encourages cross-border collaboration to address global challenges to peace.

To help drive its initiatives forward, the GCPE leverages GravityKit as the backbone for several key projects. These include the Mapping Peace Education research initiative and the Humans of Peace Education advocacy campaign. In addition, GravityKit powers the GCPE’s events calendar and databases of coalition partners and supporters, ensuring seamless organization and engagement on a global scale.

Can you share more about the accomplishments of the GCPE?

In recognition of its accomplishments, the Global Campaign was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. These sister initiatives work together to conduct research, facilitate exchanges, and provide training and advocacy for the advancement of peace education as a vital tool for peacebuilding, violence reduction, and conflict management.

How does the GCPE and IIPE use GravityKit to power their initiatives?

The GCPE uses GravityKit as the infrastructure for its Mapping Peace Education research initiative as well as its Humans of Peace Education advocacy project. The IIPE uses GravityKit to manage its application review process and to create interactive online conference guides.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! The GCPE also leverages GravityKit for conducting polls and maintaining accessible databases of members and coalition partners.
