How to Embed Charts on Your Website
There are four ways to put a chart on your site:
- The GravityCharts block, for pages and posts edited in the block editor. Covered below.
- The [gravitycharts] shortcode, for anywhere shortcodes run.
- The {gravitycharts} merge tag, for Gravity Forms notifications and confirmations.
- The GravityCharts widget, for showing a chart inside a GravityView View.
Note: Charts can render as an interactive chart or as a static image. That is a setting on the shortcode and on the GravityView widget rather than a separate way of embedding.
You can preview a chart on its settings page, but GravityCharts doesn’t add charts to other admin screens. To show charts in the WordPress admin, add the GravityCharts widget to a View and show that View in the dashboard with Dashboard Views (included in GravityView Pro). The View’s Restrict to Internal-Only View setting, which Dashboard Views adds, keeps it off the front end.
Embedding a Chart on a page/post using the GravityCharts block
After creating a new chart, you can embed it on your website using the GravityCharts block. Here’s how to do it.
Edit your page and click on the ‘+’ icon in the WordPress block editor. Now search for “GravityCharts” and add the GravityCharts block to your page.
Next, click on the block to open the block settings in the right-hand panel. Now select your form and feed from the dropdown menus.
After that, you’ll see a preview of your chart load inside the editor.
If you only want to chart data from a single entry, enter the entry ID under the “Advanced” tab.
When you’re done, update your page.
