We’re excited to release Gravity Forms Entry Tags 1.4! With this latest update, you can now use Entry Tags field values as taxonomy terms when creating posts with the Gravity Forms Advanced Post Creation add-on.
That means you can map entry tags directly to post tags or categories! Read on to see how it works.
Using entry tags as post taxonomy terms
The Gravity Forms Advanced Post Creation add-on enables you to create WordPress posts from form entries. This allows users to submit a form entry which will be turned into a post on your site.
If your form includes an Entry Tags field, you can map those values to post categories or tags. Let’s go through an example.
We’ll start by creating a post creation form and add an Entry Tags field (renamed to “Post tags”).

This will enable users to add their own, unique tags when submitting a new form entry.
Configure the Post Creation feed
Next, we’ll configure our Post Creation feed. This feed will run every time we receive a new form entry, processing the content and creating a brand new post for us in WordPress.
In the feed settings, we’ll need to map tags to our “Post tags” field (powered by Entry Tags).
Now when a user submits the form, a new post is created with the tags that they assigned!
As you can see, those tags have been created in WordPress and are ready to be used again.
Update Entry Tags today
Gravity Forms Entry Tags adds a new field type to Gravity Forms, enabling users to group and label entries with tags that they define. Entry tags are also searchable in the Gravity Forms backend.
In version 1.4, we added deeper integration with the Gravity Forms Advanced Post Creation add-on, enabling you to map entry tags to WordPress post tags or categories. So what are you waiting for? Update Entry Tags today or download it for free from our site.
