I tried to organize a party in space once, but there was no atmosphere…
Okay, okay let’s get into this week’s product updates! This week, we released several focused fixes across GravityEdit and GravityView, along with new capabilities for Magic Links and small but important improvements to entry management and display. Keep reading for the full rundown.
GravityEdit
GravityEdit 2.7.1 fixes display and editing issues on the Entries page. Image Choices fields now render correctly when some choices have empty values, and editing Entry Tags works as expected again. This update also includes an internal dependency update.
GravityView
GravityView 2.50.1 resolves interface issues in the Search Bar settings modal, including visibility and layering problems on smaller screens. It also fixes a conflict with plugins that rely on Laravel or Illuminate components, improving compatibility in more complex setups.
Developer updates
Two new filters were added to give developers more control over entry behavior:
gk/gravityview/delete-entry/can-delete– allows conditional control over whether a user can delete an entry.gk/gravityview/edit-entry/lock-dialog/show-request-control– controls whether the Request Control button is shown in the entry lock dialog.
GravityView – DataTables Layout
GravityView – DataTables Layout 3.7.1 is a targeted hotfix for sorting behavior. Sorting now works correctly even when the configured sort field is not displayed as a visible column in the table.
GravityView – Magic Links
GravityView – Magic Links Extension 1.2.0 expands what users can do with magic links and fixes several edge cases. Users can now delete entries through magic links, and links can be restricted to one-time use so they expire after a successful edit. Note: These new features require GravityView 2.50.1 or newer.
This release also resolves multiple issues affecting access and editing via magic links, including problems with custom entry slugs, hidden edit fields, disabled email validation, and broken links when entry locking is enabled.
In summary
This week, the GravityView Magic Links extension gained several highly requested features, including the ability to delete entries via magic link, and one-time links that expire after a single use. Together, these updates provide more flexibility when designing secure, user-friendly entry management workflows.
Targeted fixes across GravityEdit, GravityView, and DataTables improve stability, laying the groundwork for future feature releases.
