### Enable modern styles for a new look

New Modern Styles give your Views a clean, contemporary look out of the box, and let you present entries as a responsive card grid, all from the View editor without touching a line of CSS.

- Switch on Modern Styles for a polished, up-to-date appearance.
- Display entries as a responsive card grid you control: columns, gap, and minimum card width.
- Keep cards at equal height for a tidy, consistent layout.

## Have any **questions?**

Here are a few common questions about GravityView 3.0

#### Is GravityView 3.0 a free update?

Yes. GravityView 3.0 is a free update for anyone with an active GravityView license, with no new purchase or added cost. You’ll receive it the same way you get every other GravityView update, right from your WordPress dashboard. If your license has lapsed, simply renew it to restore access to updates and support, and you’ll be able to upgrade to 3.0.

#### Will my existing Views still work after I update?

Yes. GravityView 3.0 is built to be backward compatible, so your existing Views, settings, and integrations keep working exactly as before, with nothing to rebuild or reconfigure. We rebuilt the plugin on a modern foundation under the hood, but kept compatibility bridges in place so older setups continue to function normally. As with any major update we recommend testing on a staging site first, but the upgrade is designed to be seamless for the vast majority of sites.

#### How do I update to GravityView 3.0?

Updating is the same as any other plugin update. You can update GravityView from the Plugins screen in WordPress, or from GravityKit, then Manage Your Kit, where the new version will appear when it’s available. We always recommend running the update on a staging site before production so you can confirm everything looks right. Once you’re happy, apply it to your live site and you’re done.

#### What are the requirements for GravityView 3.0?

GravityView 3.0 requires WordPress 5.5 or later, PHP 7.4 or later, and Gravity Forms 2.6 or later. For the best experience we recommend staying current with WordPress 6.0+, PHP 8.1+, and Gravity Forms 2.7+. If your site runs older versions, update those first and then install 3.0. Most managed hosts let you change your PHP version from your hosting dashboard, or you can ask your host to help.

#### Do I need an AI assistant to use GravityView 3.0?

No. The new AI capabilities, powered by the [GravityKit MCP](/mcp/) and the [WordPress Abilities API](https://developer.wordpress.org/news/2025/11/introducing-the-wordpress-abilities-api/), are completely optional. Every other feature in 3.0, from styling to bulk actions to search, works exactly the same whether or not you use AI. If you do want to try it, you can connect an assistant like Claude to create and manage Views in plain English, but it’s there to help, not something you’re required to set up.

#### Which page builders does GravityView support?

GravityView 3.0 adds native support for Divi, Beaver Builder, and Elementor, alongside the existing Gutenberg block and shortcode. Each page builder gets a dedicated GravityView module, so you can drop a View into your layout visually with the same embedding options you’d get from the block. That means you can build pages the way you already work, without copying and pasting shortcodes.

#### I have custom code or a custom add-on. What should I know as a developer?

GravityView 3.0 is a structural refactor that moves the codebase to a modern PSR-4 namespace, which lets us ship features and fixes faster going forward. The good news is that legacy class names, hooks, and file-based template overrides all keep working through built-in compatibility layers, so your existing custom code and add-ons continue to function and you can migrate at your own pace. There are a few small things worth checking before you upgrade, and we’ve documented all of it, including full namespace tables and a pre-upgrade checklist, in the [GravityView 3.0 developer guide](https://www.gravitykit.dev/migrating-to-3-0-dev-guide/).
