A View can switch to another form after you create it. For example, when you rebuild a form, the existing View can show the new form's entries and keep its page and shortcode.

## Switch the form

- Edit the View.
- In the **Data Source** box, choose the other form under **Where would you like the data to come from for this View?**
- If the View already has fields, a warning says "Changing the form will reset your field configuration. Changes will be permanent once you save the View." Click **Continue**.
- Check the fields and settings, then click **Update**.

*From GravityView 3.10.0, the View keeps its View type, such as Table, and its widgets. The Multiple Entries and Single Entry layouts get the new form's fields in place of the old ones*![Entries Fields of a Table View after the form change, with the new form's Full name, Email, Phone, Plan and Start date fields as table columns](https://www.gravitykit.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/gravityview-change-form-new-fields.png)
The sort field under **Filter & Sort** goes back to the default, so choose it again if the View sorted by a field
In GravityView 3.9.1 and earlier, **Continue** opens the View type picker and leaves the layouts empty. Choose the View type again, then add the fields.

Click **Cancel** in the warning to keep the current form. Nothing changes until you click **Update**, so leaving the page without saving also keeps the View as it was.

## Keep a copy of the current View

To keep the current setup, duplicate the View first and change the form on the copy. [Duplicating or copying a View](https://www.gravitykit.com/docs/gravityview/getting-started-gravityview/duplicating-or-copying-a-view/) shows how.
