If your map stays zoomed out on a large area, such as a whole country, and visitors can't zoom in any closer, check the View's **Maximum Zoom**. If it shows a low number, such as 3, the map can't zoom in past that level:

![The Maps settings of a View with Maximum Zoom set to 3](https://www.gravitykit.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/maps-maximum-zoom-low.png)This can happen even if you chose **No Maximum**. Before GravityView Maps 3.11.0, the View editor changed Maximum Zoom to the Minimum Zoom value when the View was opened or a Minimum Zoom was picked, and saving the View kept that number. Version 3.11.0 stops the editor from doing this, but a View saved that way keeps its low Maximum Zoom until you change it.

## Set the zoom levels again

- Update GravityView Maps to 3.11.0 or later first, so the editor keeps the setting you choose.
- Edit the View, scroll down to the **Settings** box, and click the **Maps** tab.
- Set **Maximum Zoom** to **No Maximum** to let visitors zoom in as far as the map allows, or choose the closest level they should reach, such as **21 - Street-Level**.
- Check **Default Zoom**, which the editor may have lowered or cleared too. New Views start at **15 - Default**.
- Click **Update**.
